John Ora PORTER, 79, farmer in this community since 1912, died at 10:30 April 25, 1960 in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. Been seriously ill 2 ½ weeks. A native of Putnam County, born March 9, 1881, to William and Martha Porter and married Bertha Newgent Dec 24, 1903. Member of Waveland Christian Church. Surviving: widow; two sons, Paul and Noel; a daughter, Mrs. Austin Noblitt; four grandsons, two brothers, Charles and Roy; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Thompson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wed April 27 at 1 at the Machledt & Servies Funeral Home with burial in Memory Garden, Rockville.

WAVELAND—John Ora Porter, 79, a farmer in this community since 1912, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. He had been seriously ill two and a half weeks. He was a native of Putnam County, born March 9, 1881 to William A. and Martha Johnson Porter, and was married Dec. 24, 1903 to Bertha Newgent. Mr. Porter was a member of the Waveland Christian Church. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Paul of Washington, D.C., and Noel, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Austin Noblitt of Rockville; four grandsons; two brothers, Charles of Rockville and Roy of Greencastle; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Thompson of Roachdale, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Machledt and Servies Funeral Home here after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Arrangements are incomplete.
